Facing The Climate Challenge: Actions To Save Our Planet

The League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark, and Union City invites you to attend this free program, on Saturday, April 6, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Niles Discovery Church, 36600 Niles Blvd., Fremont,  featuring speakers and local environmental groups presenting what is happening at the international, state, and local levels to save our planet and the opportunities residents might want to get involved with. 

Bill McKibben, an international climate activist and author, has recorded a special presentation for Tri-City residents that is sure to inspire. Amos White, founder of 100K Trees for Humanity, a Black led urban reforestation nonprofit, will discuss the effect of planting carbon-absorbing trees. Jasmine Grisanti, student president of Washington High School’s Ecology Club, will present what her generation is doing locally to preserve our Earth for future generations. Local environmental groups will be introduced and invited to share news, flyers, and volunteer opportunities within their organizations.
