Special Screening Prepares Congregation For Lent

To prepare the congregation for Lent and the Lenten worship series, “What R U Up 2?” (learn more here), the Ministry of Spiritual Life, the Ministry of Christian Education, and the Ministry of Hospitality and Fellowship Teams invite you to a special, free screening of the Pixar movie Up in the sanctuary on Sunday, February 11 at 3:00 p.m. “It’s been years since I’ve seen this Oscar-winning animated film, but I still remember the opening sequence for its beauty,” Pastor Jeff said of the film.

Edit: Because some of you plan to watch the Super Bowl, an additional screening will be on Sunday, February 25 at 3:00 p.m.

The film tells the story of a 78-year-old curmudgeonly balloon salesman who is not your average hero. When he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America, he finally fulfills his lifelong dream of adventure. After he discovers an 8-year-old stowaway named Russell, this unlikely duo soon finds themselves on a hilarious journey in a lost world filled with danger and surprises.

The film is rated PG for some peril and action. Don’t let any squirrels distract you from attending this romp.
