CleanStart Mobile Hygiene Unit’s first month is a success!

You can help keep it going

The CleanStart mobile hygiene unit is operating at Niles Discovery Church from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. As many as a dozen unhoused clients are taking advantage of the showers and laundry facilities offered each afternoon. Volunteers are needed to help make this program run. Here are some ways you can help.

If you are at the church on those days, please park on the Niles Blvd side of the parking lot to allow the truck space to set-up on the railroad tracks side of the parking lot.

Volunteers are needed to sign-in the clients who come to use the shower and laundry services. If you are interested, please send an email to SpecialProjects@cityserve.org to be put on their volunteer list and get further instructions for signing up.

The Homelessness Study Group is also coordinating auxiliary services in conjunction with the CleanStart mobile hygiene unit. They are looking for volunteers to provide services and/or personal items for the homeless clients who come to the mobile hygiene unit. If you are able to help, please contact Jim Thomas (james@nilesdiscoverychurch.org; 510-284-7632), or visit nilesdiscoverychurch.org/homelesshelp for more information.
