The most sacred week of the church year begins with Palm Sunday, which this year is on March 25. Our Palm Sunday service will begin in the sanctuary and will include a retelling of the passion story in word and song by our choir.
On Maundy Thursday, March 29, we remember Jesus instituting the last supper. Join us on at 5:45 p.m. for a worship service centered around the table in the fellowship hall. Dinner will include a “Stone Salad” – a salad created by the variety of veggies people (you) bring – and soup and bread (provided).
During our Good Friday service (7:30 p.m., March 30), we will remember the arrest and crucifixion of Jesus with story, visuals, candles, and song.
Easter is on April 1 this year (no fooling). We will have an Easter Sunrise Service at 6:45 a.m. in the Niles Town Plaza at the railroad station. The service will include singing, story, and communion. As we have in the past couple years, we will head over to the Nile Café after the service for breakfast. This service is BYOC (bring your own chair).
The celebration of the resurrection will continue at the 10:00 festival Easter service, held in the sanctuary. Joy abounds with choruses of “Alleluia,” special anthems from the choir, and communion. An Easter Egg hunt will follow the worship service for you children.
