Akhil Bhamidipati, a member of Troop 112, has recently accomplished the Eagle Scout rank following a summer long project and a Board of Review by the BSA. He executed his project by cleaning / landscaping and building a set of raised planters at the Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon natural preserve in Central Fremont; he was ably assisted by more than 10 scouts who volunteered for more than 300 hours between themselves to complete the project.
Akhil started his scouting journey with Pack 110 in 2009 and worked his way through the various Cub scouting ranks and earned the Arrow of light award before bridging to the Boy Scout level in 2011. He worked through the various Boy Scouting activities and earned ranks culminating in the Eagle rank on March 15th,2016. He has earned 30 merit badges during his scouting experience in subjects as varied as Aviation, Camping, Rifle shooting, canoeing, Scubadiving, Snowsports, etc. He completed his National Youth Leadership training in 2015 and has held several troop leadership positions including Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.
Outside of Scouting, Akhil is an avid outdoorsman person, who is interested in hiking, camping and high adventure sports. He summited Mt. Kilimanjaro at the age of 13 and is training to go on a 12 day trek at Philmont Scout ranch in July of 2016. Akhil is a current sophomore, leads Debate team at American High school and is aiming to become a computer engineer
