Service project: creek restoration

The next Niles Discovery Church community service project will be on March 19, from 10:00 a.m. to about 12:30. We will be working with the Alameda Creek Alliance to enhance wildlife habitat at their adopted restoration site along Alameda Creek. This might include planting native trees and shrubs, maintaining those that have been previously planted, picking up trash, and other activities. The site is just up the creek from the Niles Staging Area near Mission Blvd. Work clothes are the order of the day – long pants and shirts, and sturdy shoes that can get dirty and maybe wet. Bring a re-usable water bottle. Equipment and a snack will be provided.

If you are interested in working with us, please contact Beth Armstrong. A count needs to be given to the Alliance and permission forms filled out. Middle schoolers are welcome, especially with adults, and possibly younger kids, too.

Stay tuned for a future project in early May.
