Pastor Jeff will be teaching a Confirmation Class this winter and spring. The class begins on January 10 with a brown bag lunch at noon in Fellowship Hall. The class is designed for youth, seventh grade and above, but adults are welcome to join.
The purpose of the Confirmation Class is to provide information and experiences to enable participants to make a faith commitment. For those who haven’t been baptized, that commitment will take the form of Baptism. For those who have been baptized (typically as infants), the rite of Confirmation provides the liturgy expressing that commitment. We never know what choices the participants will make at the end of the class, but Pastor Jeff believes the class will enable them to make an informed commitment if they feel called by God to do so.
Understanding that faith is primarily about relationship – an individual’s relationship with God and with a faith community – he is doing his best to design a class that includes opportunities to explore those relationships even as in includes information and skills.
If you are interested in more information about the class, please contact Pastor Jeff right away.
