La Posada at Puente

Several years ago, the Ministry of Social Concerns chose Puente de la Costa Sur as the recipient of our December special offering. This tradition continues this year. From the relatively small beginning of twice weekly meals and social gatherings, Puente has grown to become the only community resource center serving the immigrant population San Mateo County South Coast communities of Pescadero, La Honda, Loma Mar, and San Gregorio. La Sala (living room) provides opportunities for migrant families and the local residents to know each other in new ways and are held in hall of Pescadero Community Church (UCC). Puente programs are concentrated in the areas of economic security, education, advocacy, and community health and wellness.

Through our December Special Offering, we become a part of over 20 separate programs that promote a community that is healthy, inclusive, and sustainable, with diverse populations that can begin to accomplish their highest individual and community dreams. For more information please see the display in the Fellowship Hall and check out the Puente website, mypuente.org. This special offering will be officially received on Sunday, December 13, however, you are welcome to give to any of our Special Offerings at any time. You can see the schedule of special offerings at http://j.mp/1EA735B or call the church office and Randy will mail you one.

Thanks to your generosity, the November special offering for Abode Services and the Home Warming program raised $899.
