Congregation to vote on proposed bylaw amendment and proposed new alcohol policy
The Cabinet has called a Special Congregational Meeting to be held on Sunday, October 4, following worship, to vote on two items: A proposed amendment to the Bylaws that replaces the Endowment Fund Committee with a Finance Committee, and a proposed replacement to the alcohol use policy (part of our facilities use policies).
You can download a copy of the bylaws with the proposed amendment showing (on page 7 in red) by clicking this link: Bylaws20151004 proposed.
The motion on the proposed alcohol policy reads:
The congregation rescinds the “no alcohol on church property” policy and replaces it with the following alcohol use policy; further, the congregation authorizes the Cabinet to modify the new policy as needed to ensure that it meets our goal of minimal and responsible alcohol use on church property by outside groups and at receptions for weddings, funerals, and memorial services.
You can download a copy of the “following alcohol use policy” by clicking his link: Draft Alcohol Policy_Approved by CABINET 1.3.
Childcare will be provided during the meeting by Sandy Thomas (kids should bring their ukuleles) and Alison Keift.
