On April 27, Mike Foster received the Dorothy Wright Award for Outstanding High School Teachers. Each year, the Department of English and Comparative Literature at San Jose State University asks students to nominate their most influential high school English teachers, and Mike was among those selected from the many nominees.

Dorothy Wright taught for twenty-seven years at SJSU, dedicating herself to children’s literature and working in the Secondary Education program. This award was established in her honor, and each year the committee receives an astonishing number of nominations from students commenting on the challenging standards set by their “most influential” teachers. Congratulations, Mike!
